Achille & Joyce Infusino Business Management Scholarship

Business Management

Achille & Joyce Infusino Business Management Scholarship is offered to a full time student majoring in Business Management. Qualified candidates should have a 3.0 GPA or greater, participate in their community or clubs, and intend to pursue a career in business. Letters of recommendation will be considered. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.





Albrecht Family Scholarship



  • Applicant must have a 3.0 or better grade point average.
  • Applicant must have completed 12 or more Gateway credit hours and currently enrolled in 6 or more Gateway credit hours.
  • Applicant must have one letter of recommendation.
  • Applicant must demonstrate leadership.
  • Applicant must demonstrate community involvement through volunteer activities or involvement in student activities at Gateway or been awarded a Global Scholar Award.
  • Preference given to a student who has participated in service learning activities at Gateway or active in student clubs.





Alfred & Bernice DeSimone Endowed Scholarship

Financial Need

This scholarship is available to continuing students enrolled at Gateway Technical College. Financial need is a consideration in awarding this scholarship. Student should have completed 12 Credit hours and enrolled in 8 current credit hours. GPA 2.50 of better.





Alice J Morava Scholarship



Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded annually, as tuition vouchers, to students who: are each enrolled in at least 8 credit hours; have each completed at least 12 credit hours are residents of Walworth County carry a GPA of at least 2.5; demonstrate financial need.





Allison M. Olesinski Memorial Scholarship



  • Student enrolled in the Nursing Associate Degree

The Amber Beaver Entrepreneurship Scholarship - Student must be enrolled with a minimum GPA of 2.8 - Minimum number of Gateway credits:15; minimum number of credits carrying this semester: 6 - Complete statement of purpose - Have financial need - One letter of recommendation - Respond "yes" to the following question: I want to open up my own business - Preference shall be given to a WOMEN student OF COLOR. The student should be enrolled in any of the following programs: Barbering, Business Management, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, Early Childhood, Entrepreneurship, Horticulture, Interior Design, Marketing, Small Business.





American Truck Historical Society Beer City Chapter

Diesel

Started in 2015, the American Truck Historical Society Beer City Chapter established this scholarship in support of a student enrolled in one of Gateway's Diesel programs.





Andis Barbering & Cosmetology Scholarship -- Burlington Center



The Andis Barbering & Cosmetology Scholarship -- Burlington Center was established in 2018 by the Andis Foundation for a student enrolled in the Burlington Center Barbering & Cosmetology program who meets the criteria. Must have completed a statement of purpose, two Letters of Recommendation and pass a criminal background check.





Andis Cosmetology Scholarship



To qualify, the student must: be enrolled in the Cosmetology program, have complete a Statement of Purpose, have two letters of recommendation and pass a criminal background check.





Andis Veterinary Technician Scholarship

Veterinary Technician, veterinary Assistant

Andis Veterinary Technician Scholarship was established in 2018 by the Andis Foundation, Inc. for students enrolled in the Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant programs. Must have completed 8 credit, minimum GPA of 3.0, complete a statement of purpose and one required Letter of Recommendation.





Ann and William Hittman Scholarship

The William Hittman Scholarship is an endowed scholarship for a graduating high school senior from LakeView High School who is enrolling at Gateway Technical College following her or his high school graduation. This scholarship was established in 2018.

Architectural and Structural Sciences Scholarship

Architectural-Structural Engineering Technician, Construction

Architectural and Structural Sciences Scholarship is for qualified students who meet the following criteria: Must be enrolled in the Architectural and Structural Sciences Program Must have completed at least 30 credits hours Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at Gateway Must have a GPA of at least 3.0 Requires two letters of recommendation Financial need will be a consideration. Scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.


 





Arthur F. Mahone Memorial Scholarship

  1. Student must be enrolled in one of Gateway’s Welding Programs
  2. Student must have completed 6 credits and be currently enrolled in 2 or more credits
  3. Student must have a GPA of 2.0 or greater

  5. Student must have at least one letter of recommendation
  6. Preference will be given to a student who:
    1. Is a resident of Kenosha County or graduated from a high school in Kenosha County of Wisconsin
    2. Has a minimum GPA 2.8
    3. Participates in Gateway student clubs or volunteers in the community
    4. Is a student of color





Automation Scholarship

Automated Manufacturing Systems Technician, Electromechanical Maintenance

Established in 2016, the Automation Scholarship is for students in the Automated Manufacturing or Electro-Mechanical programs.





Badger Meter Scholarship



The Badger Meter Scholarship is a $500 scholarship offered to students enrolled in the Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design or Civil Engineering Technology-Fresh Water Resources Programs at Gateway.





Bahco Tools Horticulture Scholarship

Horticulture, Greenhouse, Nursery, Landscaping

Bahco Tools Scholarships shall be awarded by the Foundation to a student in associate degree in Nursery and Landscaping who satisfies the criteria. Student must be pursuing an associate degree in Nursery and Landscaping Program Student must have completed a minimum of 20 credit hours and be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours. Student must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75. Student must be a member of the Alpha Beta Hortus Club. Scholarship requires two letters of recommendation from program instructors. Preference is given to students with financial need. 





Bahco Tools Sustainable Energy Scholarship

Started in 2011 by Bahco Tools, this endowed scholarship is awarded to a student in the Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Technology Geothermal Technician program.





Becky Werner Memorial Scholarship



This $500 scholarship is available to continuing students enrolled in Physical Therapy or Radiology programs at Gateway Technical College. Student must have completed 12 or more Gateway credit hours and be enrolled in 8 or more credit hours. Applicant must have a 2.5 or better grade point average. Financial need may be a consideration. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.





Bessie Children Scholarship



This is a nursing scholarship. The recipient must be currently enrolled in the Nursing program at Gateway Technical College. Recipient must have passed core nursing course 543-101, 543-102, 543-103 and 543-104. Recipient must have an overall grade point average of 2.0 or better. Must be enrolled in 8 or more credits, Must have a letter of recommendation from a nursing instructor. Financial need may also be a consideration. One $500 scholarship to be awarded as a tuition voucher.






Bhatia Family Scholarship



  1. Scholarship Criteria.  The Foundation shall select a scholarship recipient according to the following criteria:
  • Complete Statement of Purpose
  • Be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits
  • Have financial need
  • Be involved in the community
  • Preference will be given to a student who resides in Racine County, demonstrates leadership, has at least one letter of recommendation, has completed a GED, Adult High School, or ELL program, is trying to turn around his or her life, and is less than 39 years of age.





Bill & Claudia Hansen Memorial Scholarship



The scholarship is for the deaf/hard of hearing student who is doing well in their classes. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.





Bizzy Scholarship

Veterinary Technician

The Bizzy Scholarship was established in 2017 to honor Bizzy, the family dog, who is a sweet companion and the scholarship is awarded to a student in the Vet Tech program.





Bradshaw Medical Scholarship



$500 tuition voucher Student must be enrolled in either the Surgical Technology or Electrical Engineering Technology - Biomedical Programs Student must have completed 12 credit hours Student must be enrolled in 8 credit hours Student must have GPA of 2.5 or better





BRP US, Inc. Scholarship



Established in 2018 as an endowed agreement. The scholarship will be awarded to a student who meets the criteria in the following Foundation application time frames order:
New Adult Learner
  1. Must be enrolled in the Motorcycle, Marine, Outdoor Power Products Program
  2. Must complete a statement of purpose
  3. Must have at least one letter of recommendation
  4. Preference will be given to a student who demonstrate financial need
 
Continuing Student

The Bruce and Jackie Battersby Scholarship was established in 2017 for a Gateway student who demonstrates leadership and is involved in Gateway or the community.

Applicant must
  1. Be enrolled in the Culinary Arts program
  2. Have minimum GPA of 2.5 or greater
  3. Reside in Racine County
  4. Complete a statement of purpose

  6. Have completed 12 credits and be enrolled in 12 credits
  7. Have one 1 letter of recommendation
Preference will be given to an applicant who
  1. Is involved in Gateway student clubs or the community
  2. Is a student of color or a dislocated worker





Campagna (John) Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is offered to students who are legal permanent residents of Racine, Kenosha, or Walworth counties and enrolled in one of the four Information Technology (IT) programs: microcomputer specialist, network specialist, programmer/analyst, or web developer/administrator. Applicants must meet minimum Foundation eligibility requirements, completed 12 or more credit hours, currently enrolled in 8 or more credit hours and maintain a 3.0 or better grade point average. Involvement in college and community activities, instructor recommendations, and financial need will be considerations in awarding this scholarship. Racine Campus students will be given first consideration. Award presented as tuition voucher.





Care of Nursing Scholarship



This scholarship is for Gateway nursing program students with a 2.0 or greater GPA, who have completed 6 or more Gateway credit hours and be currently enrolled in 6 or more Gateway credit hours. Its focus is for students who want to be nurses because they want to care for others. Applicant must have one letter of recommendation. Two letters are preferred. Applicant must demonstrate community involvement through volunteer activities.
 





Carl Schroeder Memorial Scholarship by Educators Credit Union



For continuing students who are: - in the marketing program - who demonstrate financial need - who have completed at least 12 credit hours - who are enrolled in at least 8 credit hours - who have a GPA of at least 2.5 - who demonstrate community and/or school involvement

Carol Johnson Hassebroek Memorial Scholarship



This scholarship is in memory of Carol Johnson Hassebroek, a teacher, state legislator and rancher. It is offered for a student enrolled in a program at the SC Johnson iMET Center that meets the criteria.





Caroline Pazera Memorial Scholarship



Caroline Pazera Memorial Scholarship is open to students in the Administrative Professional programs on the Kenosha Campus who have earned 24 or more Gateway credits, maintain a 3.0 GPA. Involvement in school and community activities and instructor recommendations will be considerations in awarding this $500 award.

Enrolled in Gateway's CDL/Trucking Driving program, Completes Statement of Purpose, Has at least one letter of recommendation, Preference for a student who demonstrates financial need or leadership.

Chi Omega Phi Criminal Justice & Law Enforcement Scholarship

This scholarship is available to students enrolled in Gateway's criminal justice-law enforcement program. Applicants must meet the minimum Foundation requirements, and have outstanding academic achievement, aptitude, dedication, and recommendations of program faculty to be considered for this scholarship. Student should have completed 12 or more Gateway credit hours, be enrolled in 8 or more Gateway credit hours. GPA 2.0. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.





Chuck Riley Scholarship



Chuck Riley Scholarship is offered to a full time student majoring in Construction Programs. Qualified candidates should have a 2.0 GPA or greater and have completed 6 credits. Letters of recommendation will be considered. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.





Cian Colony Memorial Scholarship

Arboriculture Urban Forestry

The Cian Colony Memorial Scholarship was started in 2023 in memory of the Arboriculture Program graduate. It is made possible through the generosity of his family and friends. It is for Arboriculture Program students who are active in student clubs or the community with a preference for students who have earned the Eagle Scout rank.





Claire Stepp Memorial Scholarship

The Claire Stepp Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to Medical Assistant Students on the Elkhorn Campus in their final semester. This is a $250 Scholarship that students can use to help pay for their Medical Assistant Externship Course #509-310-3E1A. Student should have a 3.0 GPA. Outside letter of Recommendation requested. Award presented as tuition voucher.





Clary Scholarship

Compeer Financial Scholarship



The Compeer Financial Scholarship was started in 2022 to support students in agriculture-related fields.
It is for students enrolled in Horticulture, Diesel, and Veterinary Technician programs.





Complete Office of Wisconsin/EBI Interior Design Scholarship



This $500 tuition voucher will be awarded to a student who is enrolled in the Interior Design program, has completed at least 12 credit hours, and is enrolled in at least 8 credit hours.





Connie Sweet Memorial Scholarship



The Connie Sweet Memorial Scholarship was established in 2017.The Foundation shall select a scholarship recipient according to the following criteria:

The Gateway Technical College founded the Gateway Foundation Success Scholarship in 2013. Ten scholarships were given to students with high GPA's, outstanding letters of recommendation and a minimum of 6 credits. 






Dale R. Kirchner Scholarship

Science, technology, math, engineering,

This endowed scholarship was established in 2019 by Matt and Renee Kirchner in honor of Matt's father Dale. It is for a student enrolled in a Science Technology Engineering or Math (STEM) related, manufacturing or engineering program at Gateway.





Dana Martino Spencer Aviation Scholarship

This scholarship is available to continuing students enrolled in Gateway's aeronautics - pilot training program that have successfully completed at least 12 Gateway credits and are currently enrolled in at least 8 Gateway credits. Applicants must have a 3.0 or greater GPA. Evidence of aviation-related activities/organizations, other college and community activities, and instructor recommendations will be considerations in awarding this scholarship. Applicants must show evidence of motivation and enthusiasm for the pilot program, and a love of flying. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.





Dave Dixon Transportation Scholarship

The Dave Dixon Transportation Scholarship was established in 2015 by Racine Park High School instructor, Dave Dixon. Graduating high school seniors who have been in the Park High School Automotive Program and are planning to enroll in a Transportation Program at Gateway who meet the requirements will be considered for this $500 award.





David Wang Scholarship



This $500 scholarship was established by David Wang, a Sociology instructor on the Racine campus. David's main concern was selecting a student who had a "global perspective." Criteria include:
- Any program area - 3.0 GPA
- Completed at least 12 credit hours
- Enrolled in at least 8 credit hours
- Student who has traveled outside the U.S.
- Student who is familiar with a foreign language
- Student who has an interest in international affairs





Dean's Council Scholarship



Scholarship was started by a former Dean and is supported by members of the Dean's Council. The intention is to award one scholarship per county (Racine, Kenosha, Walworth) if funds permit. Criteria. • any associate degree program • 45 or more credits completed at Gateway • currently involved in community or Gateway club • 2 letters of recommendation • completed statement of purpose • GPA 3.0 • at least one semester on the Dean's List at Gateway • financial need not a requirement. 1 recipient per county: Racine, Kenosha, Walworth if funds permit.





Delta Dental of Wisconsin



This scholarship is for students who are admitted into the Dental Assistant Program and are residents of Wisconsin. Applicant must meet the minimum criteria for admittance into the Dental Assistant Program. Preference is given to students who have financial need.

Donald & Shirley Bendix Scholarship



Student must be enrolled at Gateway Technical College as either an incoming or continuing student. Recipient must have a 3.0 or better grade point average. Applicant must have attended a Racine area High School. Preference will be given to a Horlick High School graduate. Instructor letters of recommendation will be a consideration in awarding this scholarship. Award will be presented in the form of a tuition voucher. Preference to award one male and one female student.





Dr. John "A. J." Capelli Memorial Scholarship

The Dr. John "A. J." Capelli Memorial Scholarship was established in 2018 for students enrolled in the Nursing Associate Degree program who meet the criteria and demonstrate leadership.





Dr. Nicholas J. and Joy A. Covelli Scholarship



To qualify, the student must:
• Resident of Kenosha County or Burlington area
• Has financial need
• Minimum GPA of 2.0 or greater
• Completed a minimum of 20 credits, enrolled in 6 credits
• At least one (1) letter of recommendation
• Completes statement of purpose
• Preference will be given to a student who is in the Nursing Program





Dreamers Scholarship

Started in 2023, the Dreamers Scholarship is for first-generation college students who are Latino/Latina/Latinx and not eligible to apply for the Free Application for Federal Financial Aid (FASFA).





Edith M. Anderson Memorial Scholarship



Student must be enrolled in one of Gateway's horticulture programs (Greenhouse and Floral, Nursery and Landscaping, Professional Floral Design or Professional Garden Center Operations. Applicant must have completed 12 or more Gateway credit hours. Student must be enrolled in a minimum of 8 Gateway credit hours. Student must have a GPA of 2.0 or better. Student must have at least two letters of recommendation from faculty and/or counselor. Student must be active in community and school activities. This scholarship will be awarded as a tuition voucher.





Edward Dolence Memorial Diesel Scholarship

Diesel Equipment Mechanic, Diesel

David and Cheryl Rules established this scholarship in memory of Edward Dolence who passed away in July 2013 for a student enrolled in Diesel Equipment Mechanic or Diesel or Diesel Equipment Technology, has a 2.0 GPA or greater, financial need, carrys a minimum of 3 credits, has completed 6 Gateway credits, and 1 letter of Recommendation.





English Language Learner Scholarship



The Foundation shall select a scholarship recipient according to the following criteria: • Applicant must be currently enrolled in any Gateway Technical College program. • Applicant must have a 2.0 or better grade point average. • Applicant must have completed 3 or more Gateway credit hours and currently enrolled in 3 or more Gateway credit hours. • Applicant must have one letter of recommendation. Two letters are preferred. • Applicant must have high school diploma, GED or attend(ed) Gateway’s ELL program. • Applicant must have English as a secondary language.





Equitable Opportunity Scholarship

  • Student must identify as African American
  • Enrolled in an associate degree or technical diploma program at Gateway

The Fostering Our Communities Scholarship, established in 2015, is a $500 award. Gateway Central High School Scholarship

This scholarship is for a graduating senior from Central High School with preference given to a student who attended Paris Elementary School and will be attending Gateway Technical College in the Summer of Fall semesters following graduation. If no student is available from Paris Elementary School, then a recipient may be a graduating senior from Central High School.

If there are no applicants from Central HS, then the scholarship may be awarded to a graduating high school senior from Wilmot High School who will be attending Gateway in the following Summer or Fall semesters. If there is a tie with GPA, the student with the higher GPA will be selected.

Recipient must be a continuing student for the Spring semester. Must be enrolled in Gateway's Automotive program. This scholarship is sponsored by the estate of Grace K. Plude within the Racine Community Foundation. Grace Plude's love for nursing led her in many directions. During WWII she served as a Second Lt. in the Army Nurse Corp. She later served as a Director of the Public Health Nursing Assn. and went on to be the Director of the Associated Visiting Nurse Services. The Jesús and Elsa Anaya Avanzando Scholarship was lovingly founded by the families of two exemplary individuals who immigrated to Kenosha in the early 1970s. Jesús and Elsa pursued their education at Gateway Technical College at a time when few Spanish-speaking immigrants were represented in the automotive and education industries. This scholarship has been established to support students of Hispanic/Latino origin who similarly exemplify the desire to faithfully dream, advance, and contribute to their industry of choice.

Ken Vetrovec Memorial Scholarship



Ken Vetrovec was Executive Director of the Gateway Foundation for 5 years. Ken spent much of his life giving back to the community through political service and volunteerism. Ken served on the Racine County Board as Supervisor, on Health Care Network, Theatre Guild and Racine Zoo boards. Also active member of the West Racine Rotary Club and Boy Scouts. Recipient must be a continuing student for the spring semester. Must have earned at least 8 Gateway credits, and be enrolled in at least 8 Gateway credits, GPA 2.5 or greater. Involvement in school and community activities and instructor recommendations will be considerations in awarding this scholarship. Financial need may be a consideration. Louis Micheln Memorial Scholarship Fund



This $500 scholarship is for a Gateway Technical College Kenosha campus student who has completed their second semester. The student must have a 3.0 or better grade point average, have completed 20 or more Gateway Credit hours and be currently enrolled in 9 or more credits. An employed or displaced homemaker student will receive preference. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.

Applicant must be enrolled in one of the following programs: Mechanical Design Technology, Mechanical Design Technology – Mechatronics, Automated Manufacturing Systems Technology, Industrial Mechanical Technician, HVAC, HVAC Geothermal or Electrical Engineering. 3. The Monroe Family Scholarship is for non-traditional students in Gateway's Information Technology programs who live in either Kenosha or Walworth counties. Financial need is a consideration. One letter of recommendation required; two are preferred.

Navy Club Ship 40 Thomas Fredricksen Veteran Service Scholarship



This scholarship was established for honorably discharged veterans who have completed 12 or more Gateway credits and are currently taking 6 or more Gateway credits. Preference is given to candidates who are enrolled in 12 Gateway credits. A GPA of 2.5 or greater is required. Preference is given to a candidate with a GPA of 3.0 or greater. Scholarship applicant is required to complete the 3 Person Statements: Achieve Goals, Choose Gateway and Educational Goals.

This scholarship was established for honorably discharged veterans who have completed 12 or more Gateway credits and are currently taking 6 or more Gateway credits. Open Hands Nursing Scholarship

  • Student must be enrolled in the Nursing Program

Pam Zenner-Richards Scholarship



Started in 2024 in honor of Pam Zenner-Richards retirement from the Gateway District Board after more than 30 years, the Pam Zenner-Richards Scholarship is for a woman currently enrolled in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, or Trades Programs.





Pat Barnes Memorial Scholarship



Pat was a nursing instructor in the ADN Program and member of the faculty for 19 years. The Pat Barnes Scholarship will be awarded to a student enrolled in the ADN Program. The student will have completed first semester courses 543-101, 543-102, 543,103 and 543-104. Credits taken should equal 9 or more. Current credit hours should be 6 or more. Only students who have not repeated any of 543 Nursing course will be considered. Instructor letters or recommendations will be a consideration in awarding this scholarship. Awards will be presented at the Scholarship ceremony in the form of a tuition voucher.

This scholarship is available to students enrolled in the fire science program, who are legal permanent residents of the tri county Gateway area (Kenosha, Racine, and Walworth Counties), have a grade point average of 3.0 or greater, and have 9 cumulative Gateway credits in the fire science program at the conclusion of the fall semester. Special attention will be given to those showing participation in fire safety education programs, safety demonstrations, public speaking on fire safety, volunteer fire department activities, etc. Financial need may be a consideration. The Roberto Clemente Scholarship was established in 2015 in honor of baseball great, Roberto Clemente. Roberto played for the Pittsburg Pirates, was very active in the community and was in a plane accident while delivering medical supplies following an earthquake in Nicaragua.

SC Johnson Student Life Scholarship



Through the generosity of a $100,000 scholarship endowment established by the SC Johnson Fund (6/2011 funds received, 2012 first scholarships awarded), Gateway Technical College Foundation, Inc. will offer up to five (5) $1,000 scholarships to be awarded annually to Gateway students meeting the following eligibility criteria: • Scholarship applies to student enrolled in any Gateway Associate Degree program; • Student must be in good academic standing as determined by Gateway’s academic eligibility policy; • Student must participate in one or more of the following leadership activities; Gateway student organization, community-based organization, civic organization, global scholars program, green scholars program or service learning experience; • Student must be enrolled at Gateway Technical College in at least 8 credit hours; • Preference will be given to students who are residents of Racine County, but they may attend any Gateway Technical College campus for their coursework; • Preference will be given to students demonstrating financial need.

These individuals encouraged and inspired hundreds of minority students to pursue and excel through education. Julian Thomas held the position of VP/Provost of Racine Campus at the time of his death in 2003 and Dr. Cassell Lawson retired from GTC as the VP of Community Campus in 2006. Students should have completed 12 or more Gateway credit hours, currently enrolled in 8 Gateway credit hours. GPA 2.50. The Vicki Stefka Memorial Scholarship was established in January 2015 to provide financial assistance for older adults to further their education at Gateway.

William F. Ewald Memorial Aviation Scholarship

This scholarship is available to students enrolled in the aeronautics - pilot training program at Gateway Technical College. Applicants must be legal residents of Wisconsin, and must maintain a 3.0 or higher grade point average. Must have completed 12 or more Gateway credits and be enrolled in 8 or more current Gateway credits. Instructor recommendations and involvement in other college/community activities will be considerations in awarding this scholarship. Evidence of involvement in aviation-related activities needs to be provided as part of the application. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher. 





William Higgins, Jr. Criminal Justice & Law Enforcement Scholarship

This scholarship is offered to continuing students enrolled in the Criminal Justice - Law Enforcement program at Gateway Technical College who meet the minimum Foundation requirements. Student should have completed 12 Gateway credit hours and enrolled in 8 or more current credit Gateway hours. GPA 2.0. Outstanding academic achievement, dedication, aptitude, and 2 recommendations of program faculty are considerations in awarding scholarship. Essay reason for career choice is preferred. Scholarship awarded as a tuition voucher.





William M. & Clarice Sklba Scholarship



This scholarship was started by the family of Bill and Clarice Sklba for a Racine County veteran at Gateway with a 2.0 GPA. Clarice was a Gateway graduate and longtime employee. Scholarship candidates will have a veteran's status of Honorably Discharged, Medical or General Discharge.

Scholarship Details 

  • Two scholarships awarded to each of the 16 technical colleges for the 2020-2021 academic year (must graduate between July 2020 and July 2021) 
  • Student must be entering final semester of a two-year health care-related degree program 
  • Scholarship covers cost of tuition, books and fees (that are required to graduate) for that final semester, up to $2,000.00. 
  • Technical College chooses the two scholarship recipients, based on selection criteria identified below and notifies WHA Foundation of the selections prior to June 15, 2021.

 

Selection Criteria

  •  Student must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA 
  • Student must be entering final semester of one of the eligible two-year health care-related degree programs specifically listed on the Eligibility form. 
  • Technical College has the ability to layer additional criteria in determining their own two scholarship recipients (i.e. financial need; higher GPA, community service)
 
 





Wisconsin Midrange Computer Professional Assn. Scholarship

Information Technology

This scholarship will be awarded to continuing student in Gateway's Programmer/Analyst program. Must have earned at least 8 Credits, currently enrolled in 6 Gateway credits and maintain a 3.0 or better grade point average. Involvement in school and community activities and instructor recommendations will be considerations in awarding this scholarship. Financial need may be a consideration. Scholarships will be awarded as a tuition voucher at the Foundation's annual ceremony. 





Wisconsin Nurses Honor Guard

Wisconsin Nurses Guard - Student must be enrolled with a minimum GPA of 2.8 - Completed 24 credits - Completed Nursing 543-101 - Completes statement of purpose - One letter of recommendation - Preference will be given to a student who is an honorably discharged veteran or has a family member that is a veteran. 





Women in Engineering Scholarship

ET/EET Engineering (Electrical Engineering Tech, Electronics); Mechanical Design Engineering (Mechanical Design Tech, Mechatronics Tech); Civil Engineering (Architectural/Structural Engineering Tech, Highway/Public Works Tech)

For female students in the following programs: ET/EET Engineering (Electrical Engineering Tech, Electronics Engineering Tech, Biomedical Engineering Tech); Mechanical Design Engineering (Mechanical Design Tech, Mechatronics Tech); Civil Engineering (Architectural/Structural Engineering Tech, Highway/Public Works Tech) when it's available. Student must have overall GPA of 2.75 or higher and have completed 12 core credits in an Engineering Technology field. Student must be enrolled in at least 6 credits and be an active, participating member of at least one on-campus student club. Preference will be given to students who can demonstrate financial need and must submit a paragraph describing that financial need.

X-Ten Industries Scholarship

Goals of the X-Ten Scholarship is to encourage students to become employees of manufacturing, to support broad technical skills and to help Gateway students. Required: 3.0 GPA or better, at least one faculty recommendation from the student's program area, personal statement by the student, a minimum of 12 completed credits. Preferred: Student who is Latino/Hispanic with community service/ volunteering in community, student group involvement or leadership. A student who could be employed by Xten Potential Programs: Automated Manufacturing Systems Technology Electrical Engineering Technology Electro-Mechanical Technology Electronics Facilities Maintenance Industrial Mechanical Technology Mechanical Design Technology Welding. 





Young Aviators Corporation Scholarship

  • Student must be enrolled in the Aeronautics – Pilot Training program at Gateway Technical College
  • Student must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 or greater
  • Completed 26 credits or Pilot Private Rating
  • Complete Statement of Purpose
  • Receive at least one letter of recommendation
  • A short answer question in a way that demonstrates a plan to work as a pilot
  • Preference will be given to a student who has financial need or GPA of 3.0 or greater
 
If the Aeronautics – Pilot Training program ceases to exist at Gateway, the Foundation will award the scholarship to a student who is enrolled in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math program at the College as well as other pre-determined criteria.
