This is a nursing scholarship. The recipient must be currently enrolled in the Nursing program at Gateway Technical College. Must be enrolled in 8 or more credits, Must have a letter of recommendation from a nursing instructor. Financial need may also be a consideration. This scholarship is for a graduating senior from Central High School with preference given to a student who attended Paris Elementary School and will be attending Gateway Technical College in the Summer of Fall semesters following graduation. If no student is available from Paris Elementary School, then a recipient may be a graduating senior from Central High School.

If there are no applicants from Central HS, then the scholarship may be awarded to a graduating high school senior from Wilmot High School who will be attending Gateway in the following Summer or Fall semesters. If there is a tie with GPA, the student with the higher GPA will be selected.

Friends of Gladys Renick made memorial gifts in the amount of over $500 to be used by the Gateway Technical College Foundation to provide an annual scholarship to a student, based on fund availability. Gladys was a former employee of Gateway Technical College. Criteria: be enrolled in an associate degree program that falls under Gateway Technical College's Business Division, be a resident of Kenosha County, be a non-traditional student and be enrolled in at least 8 credit hours.

This scholarship is sponsored by the estate of Grace K. Plude within the Racine Community Foundation. Grace Plude's love for nursing led her in many directions. During WWII she served as a Second Lt. in the Army Nurse Corp. She later served as a Director of the Public Health Nursing Assn. and went on to be the Director of the Associated Visiting Nurse Services. This scholarship will be awarded to a continuing student enrolled in the associate degree nursing program at Gateway. Students must have a 3.0 or better GPA and have completed 32 credits. Financial need may be a consideration. Preference may be given to U.S. Veterans. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.

Jessica Tueting Esch Memorial Scholarship was started by the Tueting Family in 2013. This $500 scholarship is available a second year for $500 provided the student is in good academic standing at the college. Jessica Tueting Esch graduated on 1/22/2004 from the Administrative Office Professional Program.

The Jesús and Elsa Anaya Avanzando Scholarship was lovingly founded by the families of two exemplary individuals who immigrated to Kenosha in the early 1970s. Jesús and Elsa pursued their education at Gateway Technical College at a time when few Spanish-speaking immigrants were represented in the automotive and education industries. This scholarship has been established to support students of Hispanic/Latino origin who similarly exemplify the desire to faithfully dream, advance, and contribute to their industry of choice.

The MODINE MANUFACTURING COMPANY SCHOLARSHIP will offer one $500 scholarship to be awarded annually to Gateway Technical College students meeting the following criteria: 1. Applicant must be a resident of Racine or Kenosha County. 2. Applicant must be enrolled in one of the following programs: Mechanical Design Technology, Mechanical Design Technology – Mechatronics, Automated Manufacturing Systems Technology, Industrial Mechanical Technician, HVAC, HVAC Geothermal or Electrical Engineering. 3. Applicant must have a GPA of 2.5 or greater. 4. Applicant must have completed 6 or more Gateway credit hours and currently enrolled in 3 or more Gateway credit hours. 5. Applicant must have at least one letter of recommendation. 6. Applicant must demonstrate community involvement through volunteer activities. 7. Financial need will be a consideration.

The Paul L. Metallo Marketing Scholarship is offered to students in the Marketing and Management Program who have completed at least 12 credit hours and who are currently enrolled in 8 credit hours. GPA of at least 2.0. Preference will be given to Kenosha Country residents and students coming from a single parent family. Students are required to complete the personal statement. The scholarship is a $500 is awarded as a tuition voucher. 

Applicant must be enrolled in one of the following programs: o Architectural–Structural Engineering Technician o Civil Engineering Technology–Fresh Water Resources o Facilities Maintenance o HVAC–Geothermal o Horticulture Design Certificate o Horticulture Greenhouse and Floral o Horticulture Nursery & Landscaping o Interior Design, or o Permaculture Design Certificate. • Applicant must have a 3.0 or better grade point average. • Applicant must have completed 6 or more Gateway credit hours and currently enrolled in 6 or more Gateway credit hours. • Applicant must have one letter of recommendation. Two letters are preferred.

One $500 scholarship for a student enrolled in the Fire Protection Technician, Fire Medic, Firefighter Technician or EMT-Paramedic associate or technical degree programs; must have completed 8 credit hours; must have GPA of 3.00 or better; must currently or in the past have volunteered in a fire or EMS-related organization/program/activity.

Racine Garden Club Scholarship for students pursuing greenhouse and floral, nursery and landscape, professional floral design, or professional garden center operations. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher. Recipients of this scholarship may be asked to attend a Racine Garden Club meeting to share their Gateway experiences with the Garden Club membership.

This scholarship honors the community involvement of Ralph Schroeder, a Gateway Marketing graduate and employee of Educators Credit Union. The emphasis of this scholarship will be focused on a student's involvement in their community. Student should be a resident of Racine, Kenosha or Walworth county. Maintain a 2.50 GPA. Program is accounting, business management, business to business, economics, financial planning, marketing and management, sports and event marketing or supervisory management. Student should be a member of DECA, FBLA or Market Management preferred. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.

• Applicant must be enrolled in the Fire Program.
• Applicant must have a 2.0 or better grade point average.
• Applicant must have completed 15 or more Gateway credit hours and does not need to be currently enrolled in Gateway credit hours (student may be returning to finish program).
• Applicant must have one letter of recommendation. Two to three letters are preferred.
• Applicant must demonstrate community involvement through volunteer activities.
• Applicant must be a member of the Gateway Association of Fire Students.

Student Achievement Fund is awarded to a Gateway student with disabilities. Students must currently be enrolled in program courses and intending to enroll in program courses next semester. Should have completed 9 or more Gateway credit hours, enrolled in 6 or more Gateway credit hours. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.

This scholarship was started by the family of Bill and Clarice Sklba for a Racine County veteran at Gateway with a 2.0 GPA. Clarice was a Gateway graduate and longtime employee. Scholarship candidates will have a veteran's status of Honorably Discharged, Medical or General Discharge.

Scholarship Details 

• Two scholarships awarded to each of the 16 technical colleges for the 2020-2021 academic year (must graduate between July 2020 and July 2021) 
• Student must be entering final semester of a two-year health care-related degree program 
• Scholarship covers cost of tuition, books and fees (that are required to graduate) for that final semester, up to $2,000.00. 
• Technical College chooses the two scholarship recipients, based on selection criteria identified below and notifies WHA Foundation of the selections prior to June 15, 2021.

Selection Criteria

•  Student must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA 
• Student must be entering final semester of one of the eligible two-year health care-related degree programs specifically listed on the Eligibility form. 
• Technical College has the ability to layer additional criteria in determining their own two scholarship recipients (i.e. financial need; higher GPA, community service)

• Student must be a woman enrolled in one of the following programs: CNC or Tool & Die
• Must complete a statement of purpose
• Must have completed a minimum of 6 credits
• Must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 or greater
• Must have at least one letter of recommendation
• Preference will be given to a student with a minimum GPA of 2.5 or greater

• Student must be enrolled in the Aeronautics – Pilot Training program at Gateway Technical College
• Student must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 or greater
• Completed 26 credits or Pilot Private Rating
• Complete Statement of Purpose
• Receive at least one letter of recommendation
• A short answer question in a way that demonstrates a plan to work as a pilot
• Preference will be given to a student who has financial need or GPA of 3.0 or greater
