    2019 To the Finish Line Scholarship

    2019 To the Finish Line Scholarship is funded by the Gateway Foundation donors.
    Any continuing student that meets the scholarship criteria will be considered for this award.
    * completed continuing student application

    * May or August 2018 graduation
    * GPA 2.8 or greater



    Achille & Joyce Infusino Business Management Scholarship

    Achille & Joyce Infusino Business Management Scholarship is offered to a full time student majoring in Business Management. Qualified candidates should have a 3.0 GPA or greater, participate in their community or clubs, and intend to pursue a career in business. Letters of recommendation will be considered. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.


    Albrecht Family Scholarship

    • Applicant must have a 3.0 or better grade point average.
    • Applicant must have completed 12 or more Gateway credit hours and currently enrolled in 6 or more Gateway credit hours.
    • Applicant must have one letter of recommendation.
    • Applicant must demonstrate leadership.
    • Applicant must demonstrate community involvement through volunteer activities or involvement in student activities at Gateway or been awarded a Global Scholar Award.
    • Preference given to a student who has participated in service learning activities at Gateway or active in student clubs.



    Alfred & Bernice DeSimone Endowed Scholarship

    This scholarship is available to continuing students enrolled at Gateway Technical College. Financial need is a consideration in awarding this scholarship. Student should have completed 12 Credit hours and enrolled in 8 current credit hours. GPA 2.50 of better. Award presented as a tuition voucher.


    Alice J Morava Scholarship

    Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded annually, as tuition vouchers, to students who: are each enrolled in at least 8 credit hours; have each completed at least 12 credit hours are residents of Walworth County carry a GPA of at least 2.5; demonstrate financial need.


    Allison M. Olesinski Memorial Scholarship

    • Student enrolled in the Nursing Associate Degree
    • Completed Nursing 543-1 (or its successor class) and passed on first attempt
    • Employed in health care
    • GPA 2.8 or greater
    • Completed 9 credits; enrolled in 6
    • Completed statement of purpose
    • Has financial need
    • Demonstrate leadership
    • One (1) letter of recommendation
    • Preference will be given to a student who is involved in Gateway or the community and has two (2) letters of recommendation



    Alpha Delta Kappa - Zeta

    First choice:
    • Student must be a woman enrolled in the Aeronautics—Pilot Training program
    • Minimum GPA 2.0
    • Completed 12 credits and enrolled in 3 credits
    • Have financial need
    • Complete statement of purpose
    • One letter of recommendation
    • Preference will be given to a student who demonstrates leadership and is involved in the community
     
    Second choice, if the scholarship has not been awarded by 2019:
    • Student must be a woman who states in her application she currently owns a business or has the goal to own her own business
    • Minimum GPA 2.0
    • Completed 12 credits and enrolled in 3 credits
    • Have financial need
    • Complete statement of purpose
    • One letter of recommendation
    • Preference will be given to a student who demonstrates leadership and is involved in the community



    American Truck Historical Society Beer City Chapter

    Started in 2015, the American Truck Historical Society Beer City Chapter established this scholarship in support of a student enrolled in one of Gateway's Diesel programs.


    Andis Barbering & Cosmetology Scholarship -- Burlington Center

    The Andis Barbering & Cosmetology Scholarship -- Burlington Center was established in 2018 by the Andis Foundation for a student enrolled in the Burlington Center Barbering & Cosmetology program who meets the criteria. Must have complete a statement of purpose, two Letters of Recommendatin and pass a criminal background check.


    Andis Cosmetology Scholarship

    To qualify, the student must: be enrolled in the Cosmetology program, have complete a Statement of Purpose, have two letters of recommendation and pass a criminal background check.


    Andis Veterinary Technician Scholarship

    Andis Veterinary Technician Scholarship was established in 2018 by the Andis Foundation, Inc. for students enrolled in the Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant programs. Must have completed 8 credit, minimum GPA of 3.0, complete a statement of purpose and one required Letter of Recommendation.


    Architectural and Structural Sciences Scholarship

    Architectural and Structural Sciences Scholarship is for qualified students who meet the following criteria: Must be enrolled in the Architectural and Structural Sciences Program Must have completed at least 30 credits hours Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at Gateway Must have a GPA of at least 3.0 Requires two letters of recommendation Financial need will be a consideration. Scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.


    Automation Scholarship

    Established in 2016, the Automation Scholarship is for students in the Automated Manufacturing or Electro-Mechanical programs.


    Badger Meter Scholarship

    The Badger Meter Scholarship is a $500 scholarship offered to students enrolled in the Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design or Civil Engineering Technology-Fresh Water Resources Programs at Gateway.


    Bahco Tools Horticulture Scholarship

    Bahco Tools Scholarships shall be awarded by the Foundation to a student in associate degree in Nursery and Landscaping who satisfies the criteria. Student must be pursuing an associate degree in Nursery and Landscaping Program Student must have completed a minimum of 20 credit hours and be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours. Student must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75. Student must be a member of the Alpha Beta Hortus Club. Scholarship requires two letters of recommendation from program instructors. Preference is given to students with financial need. 


    Bahco Tools Sustainable Energy Scholarship

    Started in 2011 by Bahco Tools, this endowed scholarship is awarded to a student in the Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Technology Geothermal Technician program.


    Barbara Ziesemer Memorial Scholarship

    This Scholarship is offered to continuing students enrolled in the associate degree nursing program at Gateway Technical College. Applicants must have a completed one semester, maintained a cumulative 3.0 grade point average, completed 12 Gateway credits, enrolled currently in 8 Gateway credits and have a satisfactory evaluation of clinical performance. Must have completed 543 clinical nursing course successfully. Instructor recommendations will also be a consideration. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher. Some consideration can be made for financial need.


    Becky Werner Memorial Scholarship

    This $500 scholarship is available to continuing students enrolled in Physical Therapy or Radiology programs at Gateway Technical College. Student must have completed 12 or more Gateway credit hours and be enrolled in 8 or more credit hours. Applicant must have a 2.5 or better grade point average. Financial need may be a consideration. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.


    Bessie Children Scholarship

    This is a nursing scholarship. The recipient must be currently enrolled in the Nursing program at Gateway Technical College. Recipient must have passed core nursing course 543-101, 543-102, 543-103 and 543-104. Recipient must have an overall grade point average of 2.0 or better. Must be enrolled in 8 or more credits, Must have a letter of recommendation from a nursing instructor. Financial need may also be a consideration. One $500 scholarship to be awarded as a tuition voucher.




    Bhatia Family Scholarship

    1. Scholarship Criteria.  The Foundation shall select a scholarship recipient according to the following criteria:
    • Complete Statement of Purpose
    • Be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits
    • Have financial need
    • Be involved in the community
    • Preference will be given to a student who resides in Racine County, demonstrates leadership, has at least one letter of recommendation, has completed a GED, Adult High School, or ELL program, is trying to turn around his or her life, and is less than 39 years of age.



    Bill & Claudia Hansen Memorial Scholarship

    The scholarship is for the deaf/hard of hearing student who is doing well in their classes. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.


    Bizzy Scholarship

    The Bizzy Scholarship was established in 2017 to honor Bizzy, the family dog, who is a sweet companion and the scholarship is awarded to a student in the Vet Tech program.


    Bradshaw Medical Scholarship

    $500 tuition voucher Student must be enrolled in either the Surgical Technology or Electrical Engineering Technology - Biomedical Programs Student must have completed 12 credit hours Student must be enrolled in 8 credit hours Student must have GPA of 2.5 or better


    BRP US, Inc. Scholarship

    Established in 2018 as an endowed agreement. The scholarship will be awarded to a student who meets the criteria in the following Foundation application time frames order:
    New Adult Learner
    1. Must be enrolled in the Motorcycle, Marine, Outdoor Power Products Program
    2. Must complete a statement of purpose
    3. Must have at least one letter of recommendation
    4. Preference will be given to a student who demonstrate financial need
     
    Continuing Student
    1. Must be enrolled in the Motorcycle, Marine, Outdoor Power Products Program
    2. Must be enrolled in at least 3 credits and completed 3 credits
    3. Must have a GPA of 2.0 or greater; preference will be given to a student with a 2.8 or greater
    4. Must complete a statement of purpose
    5. Must have at least one letter of recommendation
    6. Preference will be given to a student who demonstrate financial need
     
     
    High School Student
    1. Must be enrolled in the Motorcycle, Marine, Outdoor Power Products Program
    2. Must have a GPA of 2.0 or greater; preference will be given to a student with a 2.8 or greater
    3. Must complete a statement of purpose
    4. Must have at least one letter of recommendation
    5. Preference will be given to a student who demonstrate financial need

     


    Bruce and Jackie Battersby Scholarship

    The Bruce and Jackie Battersby Scholarship was established in 2017 for a Gateway student who demonstrates leadership and is involved in Gateway or the community.


    ButterBuds Scholarship

    Started in 2014 by the A.C. Buhler family, this endowed scholarship is for a student enrolled in the Culinary Arts Program.


    Campagna (John) Memorial Scholarship

    This scholarship is offered to students who are legal permanent residents of Racine, Kenosha, or Walworth counties and enrolled in one of the four Information Technology (IT) programs: microcomputer specialist, network specialist, programmer/analyst, or web developer/administrator. Applicants must meet minimum Foundation eligibility requirements, completed 12 or more credit hours, currently enrolled in 8 or more credit hours and maintain a 3.0 or better grade point average. Involvement in college and community activities, instructor recommendations, and financial need will be considerations in awarding this scholarship. Racine Campus students will be given first consideration. Award presented as tuition voucher.


    Care of Nursing Scholarship

    This scholarship is for Gateway nursing program students with a 2.0 or greater GPA, who have completed 6 or more Gateway credit hours and be currently enrolled in 6 or more Gateway credit hours. Its focus is for students who want to be nurses because they want to care for others. Applicant must have one letter of recommendation. Two letters are preferred. Applicant must demonstrate community involvement through volunteer activities.
     


    Carl Schroeder Memorial Scholarship by Educators Credit Union

    For continuing students who are: - in the marketing program - who demonstrate financial need - who have completed at least 12 credit hours - who are enrolled in at least 8 credit hours - who have a GPA of at least 2.5 - who demonstrate community and/or school involvement


    Carol Johnson Hassebroek Memorial Adult Learner Scholarship

    This scholarship is in memory of Carol Johnson Hassebroek, a teacher, state legislator and rancher. It is offered for a student that meets the criteria:
    • New, Adult Learner (Non Traditional Student)
    • Enrolled in Gateway program housed at the SC Johnson iMET Center
    • Completes a Statement of Purpose
    • Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits
    • Has one (1) letter of recommendation
    • Preference will be given to a student who is enrolled in 12 credits



    Caroline Pazera Memorial Scholarship

    Caroline Pazera Memorial Scholarship is open to students in the Administrative Professional programs on the Kenosha Campus who have earned 24 or more Gateway credits, maintain a 3.0 GPA. Involvement in school and community activities and instructor recommendations will be considerations in awarding this $500 award.


    Chi Omega Phi Criminal Justice & Law Enforcement Scholarship

    This scholarship is available to students enrolled in Gateway's criminal justice-law enforcement program. Applicants must meet the minimum Foundation requirements, and have outstanding academic achievement, aptitude, dedication, and recommendations of program faculty to be considered for this scholarship. Student should have completed 12 or more Gateway credit hours, be enrolled in 8 or more Gateway credit hours. GPA 2.0. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.


    Claire Stepp Memorial Scholarship

    The Claire Stepp Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to Medical Assistant Students on the Elkhorn Campus in their final semester. This is a $250 Scholarship that students can use to help pay for their Medical Assistant Externship Course #509-310-3E1A. Student should have a 3.0 GPA. Outside letter of Recommendation requested. Award presented as tuition voucher.


    Complete Office of Wisconsin/EBI Interior Design Scholarship

    This $500 tuition voucher will be awarded to a student who is enrolled in the Interior Design program, has completed at least 12 credit hours, and is enrolled in at least 8 credit hours.


    Continuing Student Success Scholarship

    The Gateway Technical College founded the Gateway Foundation Success Scholarship in 2013. Ten scholarships were given to students with high GPA's, outstanding letters of recommendation and a minimum of 6 credits. 




    Dana Martino Spencer Aviation Scholarship

    This scholarship is available to continuing students enrolled in Gateway's aeronautics - pilot training program that have successfully completed at least 12 Gateway credits and are currently enrolled in at least 8 Gateway credits. Applicants must have a 3.0 or greater GPA. Evidence of aviation-related activities/organizations, other college and community activities, and instructor recommendations will be considerations in awarding this scholarship. Applicants must show evidence of motivation and enthusiasm for the pilot program, and a love of flying. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.


    Dave & Marilyn Blood Automotive Scholarship

    1. Applicants must be legal residents of the Gateway District (Kenosha, Racine, or Walworth counties).
    2. Candidates for this scholarship must be enrolled in Gateway Technical College’s Automotive Program.
    3. Grade point average is major determining factor in awarding this scholarship. Program counselor will assist in verifying student information.
    4. School activities and community involvement will be considerations in awarding this scholarship. Student should have 2 letters of recommendation. Awards are based each year on funds available in the account. Awards are presented at the annual ceremony each year. Awards presented as tuition voucher.




    David Wang Scholarship

    This $500 scholarship was established by David Wang, a Sociology instructor on the Racine campus. David's main concern was selecting a student who had a "global perspective." Criteria include: - Any program area - 3.0 GPA - Completed at least 12 credit hours - Enrolled in at least 8 credit hours - Student who has traveled outside the U.S. - Student who is familiar with a foreign language - Student who has an interest in international affairs


    Dean's Council Scholarship

    Scholarship was started by a former Dean and is supported by members of the Dean's Council. The intention is to award one scholarship per county (Racine, Kenosha, Walworth) if funds permit. Criteria. • any associate degree program • 45 or more credits completed at Gateway • currently involved in community or Gateway club • 2 letters of recommendation • completed statement of purpose • GPA 3.0 • at least one semester on the Dean's List at Gateway • financial need not a requirement. 1 recipient per county: Racine, Kenosha, Walworth if funds permit.


    Diane Skewes Nursing Scholarship

    The Diane Skewes Nursing Scholarship was established in 2017 for students enrolled in the Nursing Associate Degree program who meet the criteria and demonstrate leadership.


    Don Eckert Memorial Nursing Scholarship

    Student must have completed all first semester nursing courses. Recipient must have a GPA of 2.5 or better. Student must be at least 20 years old. Applicant must be a resident of  Racine or Kenosha County. Student must have at least one letter of recommendation from a Gateway instructor or a supervisor/manager from work. This scholarship will be awarded as a tuition voucher. 


    Donald & Shirley Bendix Scholarship

    Student must be enrolled at Gateway Technical College as either an incoming or continuing student. Recipient must have a 3.0 or better grade point average. Applicant must have attended a Racine area High School. Preference will be given to a Horlick High School graduate. Instructor letters of recommendation will be a consideration in awarding this scholarship. Award will be presented in the form of a tuition voucher. Preference to award one male and one female student.


    Dr. John "A. J." Capelli Scholarship

    The Dr. John "A. J." Capelli Scholarshipwas established in 201 for students enrolled in the Nursing Associate Degree program who meet the criteria and demonstrate leadership.


    Edith M. Anderson Memorial Scholarship

    Student must be enrolled in one of Gateway's horticulture programs (Greenhouse and Floral, Nursery and Landscaping, Professional Floral Design or Professional Garden Center Operations. Applicant must have completed 12 or more Gateway credit hours. Student must be enrolled in a minimum of 8 Gateway credit hours. Student must have a GPA of 2.0 or better. Student must have at least two letters of recommendation from faculty and/or counselor. Student must be active in community and school activities. This scholarship will be awarded as a tuition voucher.


    Edward Dolence Memorial Diesel Scholarship

    David and Cheryl Rules established this scholarship in memory of Edward Dolence who passed away in July 2013 for a student enrolled in Diesel Equipment Mechanic or Diesel or Diesel Equipment Technology, has a 2.0 GPA or greater, financial need, carrys a minimum of 3 credits, has completed 6 Gateway credits, and 1 letter of Recommendation.


    Elkhorn Faculty/Staff Scholarship

    This scholarship is available to continuing students enrolled in a program at Gateway's Elkhorn Campus. Academic achievement, college/community activities, and leadership qualities are considerations in awarding this scholarship. Should have completed 12 credits and current credits should be 8 or more. GPA 2.0 or better. 2 Letters of recommendation preferred. Awards presented as tuition vouchers.


    English Language Learner Scholarship

    The Foundation shall select a scholarship recipient according to the following criteria: • Applicant must be currently enrolled in any Gateway Technical College program. • Applicant must have a 2.0 or better grade point average. • Applicant must have completed 3 or more Gateway credit hours and currently enrolled in 3 or more Gateway credit hours. • Applicant must have one letter of recommendation. Two letters are preferred. • Applicant must have high school diploma, GED or attend(ed) Gateway’s ELL program. • Applicant must have English as a secondary language.


    Eric Feifer Memorial Law Enforcement Scholarship

    Feifer (Eric) Memorial Law Enforcement Scholarship for students enrolled in the Criminal Justice-Law Enforcement Program at Gateway. Must be a legal resident of Kenosha, Racine or Walworth counties. Must have completed 12 or more GTC credits and currently enrolled in 8 or more Gateway credits. GPA 2.5. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.


    Eugene Lehrmann Commemorative Scholarship

    This scholarship is available to associate degree program students attending the Kenosha Campus. Applicants must be legal permanent residents of Wisconsin, have a 3.0 grade point average or better, minimum of 12 cumulative Gateway credits, enrolled in 6 current Gateway credit hours, show involvement in college/community activities, and evidence of leadership qualities. Financial need will also be a consideration. Preference will be given to continuing adult students. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.


    Everett W. Saxe Memorial Scholarship

    Students: - must have completed 12 credit hours, must be enrolled in at least 8 credit hours, must explain financial need in the application, be working at least 12 hours per week or be a displaced worker or displaced homemaker. Scholarship is a $1,000 tuition voucher.


    Ewald (William F.) Memorial Aviation Scholarship

    This scholarship is available to students enrolled in the aeronautics - pilot training program at Gateway Technical College. Applicants must be legal residents of Wisconsin, and must maintain a 3.0 or higher grade point average. Must have completed 12 or more Gateway credits and be enrolled in 8 or more current Gateway credits. Instructor recommendations and involvement in other college/community activities will be considerations in awarding this scholarship. Evidence of involvement in aviation-related activities needs to be provided as part of the application. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher. 


    Fostering Our Communities

    The Fostering Our Communities Scholarship, established in 2015, is a $500 award. To be considered for this award, a student must have been fostered in the foster care system and who meets the scholarship criteria. Preference will be given to students that have Gateway involvement or community service involvement and who have fostered in the fostercare system in Wisconsin.

    To be considered for this scholarship you must have: 
    • A minimum GPA of 2.5 or greater
    • Completed 12 or more Gateway credits
    • Be currently employed
    • Fostered in the fostercare system



    Frederick and Joanie Brookhouse Horticulture

    The FREDERICK AND JOANIE BROOKHOUSE HORTICULTURE SCHOLARSHIP will offer one $500 scholarship to be awarded annually to Gateway Technical College students meeting the following criteria: 1. Applicant must be a resident of Racine or Kenosha County. 2. Applicant must be enrolled in one of the following programs: Horticulture-Greenhouse and Floral, Horticulture-Nursery and Landscaping, Urban Farming Permaculture or a sustainable living program in Horticulture. 3. Applicant must have a 2.5 or better grade point average. 4. Applicant must have completed 8 or more Gateway credit hours and currently enrolled in 3 or more Gateway credit hours. 5. Applicant must have one letter of recommendation. 6. Applicant must demonstrate leadership through academic or community involvement.


    Frost Family Scholarship

    To qualify for the Frost Family Scholarship a recipient  must meet the the following criteria: 
    • Enrolled in Manufacturing, Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics program
    • Minimum GPA of 2.5
    • Complete Statement of Purpose
    • Completed 15 credits, currently enrolled in 3
    • Two letters of recommendation
    • Preference for financial need, resident of Kenosha County, demonstrated leadership and community involvement



    Gabriella Ortiz Memorial Scholarship High School

    Stacia Thompson established this annual scholarship in 2015 in memory of Gabriella Ortiz for a high school graduate coming to Gateway in the summer or fall after completing high school. Students must be enrolled in nursing or human services programs to be considered for this scholarship.


    GACTE Scholarship

    Gateway Association of Career and Technical Education is a professional education association that promotes career and technical education. Locally, one of GACTE’s projects is to provide support for student emergency funds and scholarships.


    Garden Center Piala Memorial Symposium Scholarship

    The Garden Center Symposium Piala Memorial Scholarship was established for a student enrolled in the Horticulture-Greenhouse and Marketing Program.


    Gary Gibson Memorial Service Occupations Scholarship

    This scholarship is available to continuing students of color enrolled in, but not limited to, service occupation programs at Gateway. Preference will be given to students enrolled in the following service occupation programs: Barber/Cosmetologist; Criminal Justice – Law Enforcement; Culinary Arts; Early Childhood Education; EMS/EMT (Emergency Services); Fire Science; Health and Human Services; Hotel/Hospitality Management; Instructional Assistant; Interpreter Technician. Qualified students must be a resident of the Racine Unified School District, be currently enrolled in 8 Gateway credits and have earned at least 12 cumulative Gateway credits by the end of fall semester. Students must maintain a grade point average of 2.0 or better and meet Foundation requirements. Financial need will also be a consideration. Scholarship awarded as a tuition voucher. ***NOTE: Applicants must also provide a short essay (at least 150 words) describing “The Importance of Being a Public Servant” in their chosen occupational area.


    Gateway Administrative Professional Scholarship

    This Gateway Administrative Professional Scholarship was established by Administrative Professionals from Gateway in 2017 for students in the Administrative Professionals or the Office Assistant Program.


    Gateway Business Office Department Employees Scholarship

    This scholarship was established in 2018 for a:
    • Student enrolled in Accounting or Administrative Professional Associate Degree programs
    • Minimum GPA: 2.5
    • Completed 12 credits and enrolled in 3 credits
    • Complete Statement of Purpose
    • Preference given to a student with financial need



    Gateway Centennial Scholarship

    Student must be enrolled in any associate degree program. Recipient must have completed 12 credit hours and be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours. Applicant must have a grade point average of 3.0 or better. 


    Gateway Human Resources Department Scholarship

    This scholarship was established in August 2018 by the Gateway Human Resources Department employees for:
    • Student enrolled in Business Management, Hospitality Management, Human Services, or Leadership Development programs
    • Minimum GPA of 2.0
    • Completed 6 credits; enrolled in a minimum of 3 credits
    • Completed Statement of Purpose
    • One (1) letter of recommendation
    • Preference will be given to a student who
      • Demonstrates financial need
      • Demonstrates leadership
      • Has two (2) letters of recommendation



    Gateway Latino Scholarship

    Gateway Latino Scholarship, established in 2015 for a Latino student.
    Criteria include:

    •    Has financial need
    •    Minimum GPA: 2.75
    •    Completed 6 credits; currently enrolled in 6
    •    Identifies herself or himself as Latino
    •    One letter of recommendation

    Gateway Spirit Fund Scholarship

    This scholarship is available to continuing students enrolled in an associate degree program at Gateway Technical College. Student should have completed 12 or more Gateway credits and be enrolled in 8 or more Gateway credits. Recipient must have a grade point average of 2.75 or better. Student must be involved in Gateway clubs and activities. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.


    Gateway Student Finance Team

    Established in 2015 by the Gateway Student Finance Team.


    Gateway Technical College District Board Scholarship

    This scholarship is available to continuing students enrolled in an associate degree program at Gateway Technical College. Applicants must have completed 12 credit hours and be enrolled in a minimum of 8 Gateway credit hours. Recipient must have a grade point average of 2.75 or better. Applicant must have at least one Gateway faculty recommendation from their degree program. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.


    Gateway Technical Education Association (GTEA) Scholarship Fund for Continuing Students

    Established by members of the GTEA in 8/1/13. Student must be enrolled or intending to enroll in a degree, technical diploma, certificate program or general studies program for a minimum of six credits each term at Gateway. 




    George & Edith Connolly Memorial Nursing Scholarship

    This scholarship is available to students enrolled in the associate degree nursing program at Gateway, who have completed at least one semester of study, and who maintain a grade point average of 2.5 or higher, completed 12 Gateway credit hours, and enrolled in 8 Gateway credit hours. Student should complete a personal statement essay. 2 letters of recommendation preferred. Scholarship will be awarded with financial need as a consideration. Faculty recommendations are also considered in awarding this scholarship. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.


    George Tennessen Memorial Scholarship

    Recipient must be a continuing student for the Spring semester. Must be enrolled in Gateway's Automotive program. Must have earned at least 12 Gateway credits in their declared Automotive program at the conclusion of the fall semester, and be enrolled in at least 12 Gateway credits for the spring semester. Must maintain a 3.0 or better GPA. Involvement in school and community activities and instructor recommendations will be considerations in awarding this scholarship. Financial need may be a consideration. Scholarship will be a tuition voucher.




    Geri Hurt MemorialScholarship

    The Geri Hurt Memorial Scholarship was established in 2015 by Gateway employees, Ken and Stacy Riley.


    Gladys Renick Memorial Scholarship

    Friends of Gladys Renick made memorial gifts in the amount of over $500 to be used by the Gateway Technical College Foundation to provide an annual scholarship to a student, based on fund availability. Gladys was a former employee of Gateway Technical College. Criteria: be enrolled in an associate degree program that falls under Gateway Technical College's Business Division, be a resident of Kenosha County, be a non-traditional student and be enrolled in at least 8 credit hours.




    Goldman Sachs Gives - Continuing Student Scholarship

    The Goldman Sachs Gives was established through an endowment grant.


    Grace K. Plude Nursing Scholarship

    This scholarship is sponsored by the estate of Grace K. Plude within the Racine Community Foundation. Grace Plude's love for nursing led her in many directions. During WWII she served as a Second Lt. in the Army Nurse Corp. She later served as a Director of the Public Health Nursing Assn. and went on to be the Director of the Associated Visiting Nurse Services. This scholarship will be awarded to a continuing student enrolled in the associate degree nursing program at Gateway. Students must have a 3.0 or better GPA and have completed 32 credits. Financial need may be a consideration. Preference may be given to U.S. Veterans. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.




    Gregory and Susan Chapman Engineering Scholarship

    The Gregory and Susan Chapman Engineering Scholarship was established in 2017 for a student enrolled in the Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Program.


    Helen Tyler Memorial Scholarship

    Started in 2017 by Gateway instructor and alumni, Kidia Tyler, the Helen Tyler Memorial Scholarship is for a student enrolled in the CNC Technician program. Must be a first semester student enrolled in 9 credit, complete a statement of purpose, one required Letter of Recommendation and preference for a student with financial need.


    Helping Hands Nursing Scholarship

    Started by a Gateway Nursing Alumni in 2015, this scholarship is for a nursing student who is enrolled in the Associate's degree program. Preference is given for someone who gives back or who will pay it forward and is a good classroom citizen.


    Howard Brown Memorial Scholarship

    This endowed scholarship was established through a donation made by Elizabeth Brown, the late Howard Brown's wife. One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded as a tuition voucher to a Gateway student: - who has completed at least 12 credit hours, who is enrolled in at least 8 credit hours, who has a GPA of at least 2.5.




    Hugh A. MacDonald Memorial Scholarship

    The Hugh A. MacDonald Memorial Scholarship was established for students enrolled in Associated Degree Programs in Horticulture or Engineering (Electrical).


    Human Services & AODA Certificate Scholarship

    This scholarship is for a student in the Human Services or AODA Certificate Program.


    Insinkerator Manufacturing Excellence Scholarship

    Funded by Insinkerator, this is a $500 scholarship. Student must be enrolled in the Industrial Mechanical Technician program, Mechanical Design, Electro-Mechanical Technology, Automated Manufacturing Systems Technology, have completed at least 12 Gateway credit hours and be enrolled in at least 8 Gateway credit ours. 


    Jace Lynch Memorial Scholarship

    This scholarship was established by family members of Jace Lynch. Jace was a mechanic who was at the Lakeview Campus of Gateway Technical College.




    James A. Tree Memorial Endowed Scholarship

    This scholarship is offered to continuing students enrolled in a manufacturing-related program. Applicants must meet minimum Foundation requirements. Academic achievement, leadership qualities, college/community involvement, and recommendations of program faculty will be considered in awarding this scholarship. Racine campus attendees are preferred. Student should have completed 12 or more Gateway credit hours, enrolled in 8 current Gateway credit hours. GPA 2.0. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher. Programs that qualify: Automated Manufacturing Systems Technology, CNC Production Technician, Electro-Mechanical Technology, Industrial Mechanical Technician, Welding-Advanced Welding, Welding/Maintenance & Fabrication, Welding-Pipe Welding, and Welding-Robotics.


    James R. Angelici Culinary Arts Scholarship

    The James R. Angelici Culinary Arts Scholarship is a $500 scholarship to be awarded annually to a continuing Gateway student. They must meet the following criteria:

    Applicant must be enrolled in the Culinary Arts program.

    Applicant must have a 3.0 or better program grade point average.

    Applicant must have completed 40 or more Gateway credit hours and be currently enrolled in 12 or more Gateway credit hours.

    Applicant must demonstrate community involvement through volunteer activities. 

    Preference will be given to a student with financial need.




    Jessica Tueting Esch Memorial Scholarship

    Jessica Tueting Esch Memorial Scholarship was started by the Tueting Family. Kayla Tueting is the contact. This $1000 scholarship is available a second year for $1000 provided the student is in good academic standing at the college. Jessica Tueting Esch graduated on 1/22/2004 from the Administrative Office Professional Program.




    Jim Lawton Memorial HVAC Scholarship

    One $500 scholarship will be awarded as a tuition voucher for a student enrolled in the HVAC associate degree program. Student must have completed at least 12 credit hours and be enrolled in at least 8; must have an overall GPA of 2.0 or better. Students demonstrating financial need will be given selection preference.


    John C. Thoennes Scholarship

    The family of John C. Thoennes started this scholarship to honor the teaching legacy of the former Gateway instructor. It is awarded to a student enrolled in a construction trade apprenticeship.


    John Mazurek Memorial Accounting & Marketing Scholarship

    John Mazurek Memorial Accounting & Marketing Scholarship was established in 2017 in memory of Gateway instructor, John Mazurek. This scholarship is for a Gateway student who meets the criteria:
    1. Student enrolled in Accounting or Marketing Programs
    2. Minimum GPA 2.0
    3. Enrolled in 6 credits; completed 6 credits
    4. Complete Statement of Purpose
    5. Student has demonstrated leadership
    6. One (1) letter of recommendation

    Johnson Financial Group Scholarship

    The Johnson Financial Group Scholarship is an endowed scholarship that is awarded to a student enrolled in a Business or IT program.


    Joseph & Kathy Madrigrano, Jr. Scholarship

    This scholarship is for an unemployed or displaced homeworker and single mothers. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.




    Joseph & Shirley Madrigrano Human Services Scholarship

    This scholarship is offered to students enrolled in the human services associate program who have completed at least one semester of study, completed 12 Gateway credit hours, enrolled in 8 current Gateway credit hours and maintain a grade point average of 2.0 or higher. Academic achievement, dedication, leadership, and recommendations of program faculty are considerations in awarding this scholarship. Personal statement essay preferred. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher. 


    Joseph E. Farnham Memorial Scholarship

    Dr. Farnham was a distinguished scientist and mentor who loved to travel with his family.


    Joseph L. Myers IV Memorial Criminal Justice Scholarship

    This scholarship is available to students enrolled in the criminal justice law enforcement program. Selection will be based upon academic standing, participation in extracurricular activities such as student organizations, participation in community organizations, and any other activities that benefit the community. Student should have completed 12 or more Gateway credits, be enrolled in 8 or more current Gateway credit hours and a GPA of 2.0 or better. Recommendations from program faculty will be considerations in awarding this scholarship. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.


    Joseph Trotta Criminal Justice & Law Enforcement Scholarship

    This scholarship is available to students enrolled in the criminal justice law enforcement program at Gateway. Qualified students will be currently enrolled in 8 Gateway credits and have earned at least 12 credits. Applicant must be legal residents of Kenosha County, must maintain a grade point average of 2.0 or better, and must have graduated from one of the following high schools in Kenosha County: Bradford, Tremper, St. Joseph, Reuther Central, Shoreland Lutheran, Indian Trail Academy, Christian Life, LakeView, Central, or Wilmot. Recommendations of program faculty, and involvement in college and community activities are considerations in awarding this scholarship. This scholarship is awarded as a tuitions voucher.


    Josephine Capelli Memorial Scholarship

    The Josephine Capelli Scholarship was established to honor a student who has a passion for lifelong learning and who exhibits good citizenship.


    Joshua Dorval Memorial Scholarship

    Started by family and friends in 2015, this scholarship is named for Joshua Dorval. Joshua was an EMT student at Gateway who helped others.


    Juanita Rodriguez & Rafael Clemente Scholarship

    Established in 2015, this scholarship is in honor of Juanita Rodriguez and Rafael Clemente, who instilled in their children the value of education. It is awarded to a Gateway student enrolled in an Associate's Degree program.


    Katy Ganaway Memorial Scholarship

    This scholarship is offered to students enrolled in the electronic technician or electrical engineering technology program at Gateway Technical College. Applicants must be legal residents of Wisconsin, and have a 2.5 grade point average or better. Have completed 12 or more Gateway credits and currently enrolled in 8 or more Gateway credits. Instructor recommendations, and involvement in college / community activities will be considerations in awarding this scholarship. Scholarship is award as a tuition voucher.


    Ken Vetrovec Memorial Scholarship

    Ken Vetrovec was Executive Director of the Gateway Foundation for 5 years. Ken spent much of his life giving back to the community through political service and volunteerism. Ken served on the Racine County Board as Supervisor, on Health Care Network, Theatre Guild and Racine Zoo boards. Also active member of the West Racine Rotary Club and Boy Scouts. Recipient must be a continuing student for the spring semester. Must have earned at least 8 Gateway credits, and be enrolled in at least 8 Gateway credits, GPA 2.5 or greater. Involvement in school and community activities and instructor recommendations will be considerations in awarding this scholarship. Financial need may be a consideration. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.


    Kenosha Collegiate DECA Student/Alumni Scholarship

    This scholarship is available to continuing students enrolled at the Kenosha Campus who are members of Gateway DECA. Students must have successfully completed 12 Gateway credits, be currently enrolled in 8 Gateway credits, and maintain a 2.5 GPA. Involvement in college and community activities, and instructor recommendations are considerations in awarding this scholarship. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher. Applicants must provide a letter of recommendation from outside of the marketing area.




    Kikkoman Culinary Scholarship

    This scholarship was established in 2012 by Kikkoman Foods, Inc. It is offered to students enrolled in the Culinary Program. Student should be enrolled in 2 current Gateway credit hours and completed 3 Gateway hours. GPA 3.0 or better. Minimum of two letters of recommendation is required, three letters are preferred. Financial need is consideration in awarding this scholarship. Applicants living in Walworth County will receive additional preference. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.


    Kloss Fund for Healthcare Students

    This scholarship is offered to students enrolled in a health careers program at Gateway. Academic achievement, involvement in community activities, and leadership qualities are considerations in awarding this scholarship. Student should be enrolled in 12 current Gateway credit hours, GPA 2.0 or better. This is scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.


    Lang Family Foundation Scholarship w /A & E Tools

    Student must be enrolled in: Automated Manufacturing Systems Technology, Automotive Maintenance Technician, Automotive Technology, CNC Production Technician, Diesel Equipment Mechanic, Diesel Equipment Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electro-Mechanical Technology, Industrial Mechanical Technician Mechanical Design Technology, Mechanical Design Technology- Mechatronics, Mechanical Design Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design Technology-Mechatronics. Candidates for this scholarship must have at least 12 Gateway credits accumulated and be enrolled in at least 12 Gateway credits. Instructor recommendations and involvement in school and community activities will be considerations in awarding this scholarship. Financial need will also be a consideration. Four $500 scholarships will be awarded as a tuition voucher for continuing students each year.


    Learning Innovation Division Scholarship (LID)

    Funded by employees of Gateway's Learning Innovation Division, this scholarship is for students in Gateway's IT programs who are committed to the field of information technology and who are academically successful. A successful candidate's career goal is to work in the IT field.


    Len Iaquinta Scholarship

    Established in 2014, by Len Iaquinta, this annual scholarship is awarded to a student dedicated to service or club participation.




    Leonard Rauen, M.D. Memorial Nursing Scholarship

    This scholarship is available to students enrolled in the nursing program at Gateway who are residents of Kenosha County, have successfully completed at least 12 Gateway credits and are currently enrolled in at least 8 Gateway credits. Applicants need to have a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or better. Academic achievement, instructor recommendations, and financial need are considerations in awarding this scholarship. Student should write a short essay why they need this scholarship. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.


    Linda Gallagher Memorial Scholarship

    Student must be enrolled in horticulture program (horticulture, landscape design, conservation or other environmental-related field). Recipient must be a resident of Walworth County. Student must be enrolled in a minimum of eight Gateway credit hours. Student must have completed a minimum of eight Gateway credit hours. Applicants need to have a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 or better. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.




    LMI Packaging Solutions THECHET Scholarship

    This scholarship is provided by LMI Packaging Solutions for a Gateway student who serves as a mentor to others.

     




    Louis Micheln Memorial Scholarship Fund

    This $500 scholarship is for a Gateway Technical College Kenosha campus student who has completed their second semester. The student must have a 3.0 or better grade point average, have completed 20 or more Gateway Credit hours and be currently enrolled in 9 or more credits. An employed or displaced homemaker student will receive preference. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher. 


    Louis Summers Memorial Scholarship

    This scholarship was established in August 2018.
    • Student must be enrolled in one of the Automotive programs

    Lt. Jeff Kreft Memorial Scholarship

    CRITERIA: The LT. JEFF KREFT MEMORIAL SCHOLARHSIP will offer one $1,000 scholarship to be awarded annually to Gateway Technical College students meeting the following criteria: 1. Applicant must be enrolled in the Criminal Justice – Law Enforcement program. 2. Applicant must have a 3.0 or better grade point average. 3. Applicant must have completed 8 or more Gateway credit hours. 4. Applicant must have one letter of recommendation. 5. Applicant must demonstrate community involvement through volunteer activities. 6. Applicant must express that his/her career goal is to become a police officer. 7. Applicant will receive additional consideration with current membership in the Chi Omega Phi Club. 


    Machinist & Mechanics Scholarship

    The Machinist & Manufacturing scholarship was established in memory of Matthew John Mueller, a Gateway alum. It is for a Gateway student enrolled in a manufacturing or transportation at the college with preference given to a student with a GPA closer to the minimum 2.0. 


    Mackenzie Schuler Memorial Scholarship

    Started in 2018, the Mackenzie Schuler Memorial Scholarship is for a nursing student. Established by the family and friends of Mackenzie Schuler. Must have minimum GPA 3.0, show financial need, one Letter of Recommendation, and completed 30 credits. 

    Preference given to student who plans to work in pediatrics, resides in Racine County and demonstrates leadership.

    The Mahone Family Foundation established this scholarship in 2014.This scholarship is for current full time Gateway students enrolled in Business Programs that will allow transfer to UW Parkside known as “Forward Together.” Currently these associate degree programs include:

    Marilyn J. Rothschild Pharmacy Technician and Nursing Scholarship Fund

    Must be enrolled in the Nursing or Pharmacy Tech programs; must be enrolled in at least 9 credits; must demonstrate both financial need and community involvement; letter of recommendation, preference given to Racine County resident, but students in Elkhorn will also be considered. $750 scholarship (tuition voucher).


    Marion Gregory Memorial Aviation Scholarship

    This scholarship is awarded to incoming students whose course of study is Aeronautics - Pilot Training. Successful graduation from high school. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.


    Marjorie Blocks Nursing Scholarship Fund

    This scholarship is available to continuing students enrolled in the associate degree nursing program at Gateway Technical College. Applicants must have successfully completed at least 12 Gateway credits at the beginning of the Fall semester, and currently be enrolled in at least 9 credits for nursing for the Spring semester. They must be entering their second year of clinical in the associate degree nursing program. Students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better, and satisfactory clinical evaluations. Awards presented as tuition voucher.


    Mattie Peterson Memorial Nursing Scholarship

    This scholarship is offered to students enrolled in nursing programs at the Burlington Campus. Applicants must have successfully completed 12 Gateway credits and currently be enrolled in 8 Gateway credits. GPA 2.0 or better. Applicant should write a short essay why they need this scholarship. Financial need, involvement in college and/or community activities, and instructor recommendations are considerations in awarding this scholarship. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher. Two scholarships are available for qualified candidates.


    Modine Manufacturing Company Scholarship

    The MODINE MANUFACTURING COMPANY SCHOLARSHIP will offer one $500 scholarship to be awarded annually to Gateway Technical College students meeting the following criteria: 1. Applicant must be a resident of Racine or Kenosha County. 2. Applicant must be enrolled in one of the following programs: Mechanical Design Technology, Mechanical Design Technology – Mechatronics, Automated Manufacturing Systems Technology, Industrial Mechanical Technician, HVAC, HVAC Geothermal or Electrical Engineering. 3. Applicant must have a GPA of 2.5 or greater. 4. Applicant must have completed 6 or more Gateway credit hours and currently enrolled in 3 or more Gateway credit hours. 5. Applicant must have at least one letter of recommendation. 6. Applicant must demonstrate community involvement through volunteer activities. 7. Financial need will be a consideration.




    Monroe Family Scholarship

    The Monroe Family Scholarship is for non-traditional students in Gateway's Information Technology programs who live in either Kenosha or Walworth counties. Qualified candidates must have a 3.5 GPA, completed 6 Gateway credits and be currently enrolled for 6 credits. Candidates must participate in Gateway clubs or the community. Financial need is a consideration. One letter of recommendation required; two are preferred.


    Mukwonago Crazy Quilters' Guild, Inc. Scholarship

    The scholarship recipient must be in the Interior Design program, preferably the textile program. Students must be continuing students for the spring semester. Must maintain a 2.5 or better GPA. Must be a Wisconsin residen from one of the following counties:Kenosha, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Walworth or Waukesha. Scholarship will be given at the Foundation's annual ceremony.


    Navy Club Ship 40 Thomas Fredricksen Veteran Service Scholarship

    This scholarship was established for honorably discharged veterans who have completed 12 or more Gateway credits and are currently taking 6 or more Gateway credits. Preference is given to candidates who are enrolled in 12 Gateway credits. A GPA of 2.5 or greater is required. Preference is given to a candidate with a GPA of 3.0 or greater. Scholarship applicant is required to complete the 3 Person Statements: Achieve Goals, Choose Gateway and Educational Goals.


    Nurture Your Best Scholarship

    This scholarship, established in 2015, is for a Human Services program student who has demonstrated tapping into their potential and making the world a better place.


    On My Way

    The On My Way Scholarship is for Gateway students who have completed 6 credits, are enrolled in a minimum of 3 credits and have a minimum GPA of 2.0 or greater. Student must complete a statement of purpose, have financial need and a minimum of 1 letter of recommendation. Preference is given to a returning Veteran.


    Pat Barnes Memorial Scholarship

    Pat was a nursing instructor in the ADN Program and member of the faculty for 19 years. The Pat Barnes Scholarship will be awarded to a student enrolled in the ADN Program. The student will have completed first semester courses 543-101, 543-102, 543,103 and 543-104. Credits taken should equal 9 or more. Current credit hours should be 6 or more. Only students who have not repeated any of 543 Nursing course will be considered. Instructor letters or recommendations will be a consideration in awarding this scholarship. Awards will be presented at the Scholarship ceremony in the form of a tuition voucher.


    Patrick & Rosemary Hoppe Scholarship

    This scholarship is for continuing students in one of the three Electronics programs. Program is Electrical Engineering Technology, Electromechanical Technology, Electronic Technician. Must have earned at least 12 Gateway credits in their declared Electronic program at the conclusion of the fall semester, and be enrolled in at least 6 Gateway credits for the spring semester. Maintain a 2.5 or better GPA. A member of Electronics club or the N9GTC Amateur Radio club is preferred. Financial need may be a consideration. Female students will receive preference. Two letters of recommendation from teachers. A tuition voucher for $500.00 will be awarded at the Foundation annual ceremony.


    Paul L. Metallo Marketing Scholarship

    The Paul L. Metallo Marketing Scholarship is offered to students in the Marketing and Management Program who have completed at least 12 credit hours and who are currently enrolled in 8 credit hours. GPA of at least 2.0. Preference will be given to Kenosha Country residents and students coming from a single parent family. Students are required to complete the personal statement. The scholarship is a $500 is awarded as a tuition voucher. 




    Permaculture Design Certificate Scholarship

    Perry Crawford III "Preserving the Urban Forest" Scholarship

    Crawford Tree & Landscape extablished the Perry Crawford III "Preserving the Urban Forest" Scholarship in 2018 for students that meet the criteria.
    1. Continuing Student enrolled in the Arboriculture/Urban Forestry Technician program
      1. Completed 12 credits; enrolled in 6 credits
      2. Preference for a student who is active in the Gateway Student Society of Arboriculture
      3. Preference for a student who has attended Arboriculture conferences

    Peter Kareckas Memorial Scholarship

    This scholarship is available to continuing students enrolled in a CNC production technician or electronic technician program at Gateway Technical College. Applicants must have successfully completed at least 16 Gateway credits, have a 3.0 or better grade point average, and currently be enrolled in 8 Gateway credits. Involvement in college / community activities and instructor recommendations will also be considered in awarding this scholarship. Student should complete a personal statement essay. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.


    Philip B. Morrissey Memorial Scholarship

    This scholarship is available to continuing students enrolled at the Elkhorn Campus and who are residents of Walworth County. Academic achievement and leadership qualities are major considerations in awarding this scholarship. Students should have completed 9 or more Gateway credit hours and be enrolled in 6 or more Gateway credit hours and maintain a 2.0 GPA or better. One associate degree award and one technical diploma award will be selected. Scholarships are awarded as tuition vouchers.


    Pierce Manufacturing HERO Center Scholarship

    One $500 scholarship for a student enrolled in the Fire Protection Technician, Fire Medic, Firefighter Technician or EMT-Paramedic associate or technical degree programs; must have completed 8 credit hours; must have GPA of 3.00 or better; must currently or in the past have volunteered in a fire or EMS-related organization/program/activity.




    Potpourri Garden Club Scholarship

    This is a horticulture scholarship. Program is Greenhouse and Floral, Nursery and Landscaping, Professional Design or Professional Garden Center Operations. Student should have completed 12 or more Gateway credit hours, enrolled in 8 or more current Gateway credit hours and GPA 2.0 or better. Student should write a short personal essay. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.


    Racine Garden Club Carole Eckel Memorial Scholarship

    This scholarship was established in 2018 by the Racine Garden Club in memory of Carole Eckel. To be considered for this award:
    • Applicant must be enrolled in a Horticulture Program
    • Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
    • Applicant must have completed a minimum of 12 credits
    • Applicant must have a minimum of 2 letters of reference
    • Applicant must demonstrate leadership
    • Preference will be given to an applicant from Racine County with financial need

    Racine Garden Club Scholarship

    Racine Garden Club Scholarship for students pursuing greenhouse and floral, nursery and landscape, professional floral design, or professional garden center operations. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher. Recipients of this scholarship may be asked to attend a Racine Garden Club meeting to share their Gateway experiences with the Garden Club membership.




    Racine OASIS/DEX Scholarship

    This scholarship is available to continuing students who are Racine County residents and who are enrolled in a program at the Racine Campus. Involvement in college/community activities, aptitude, and leadership qualities are also considerations in awarding this scholarship. Student should have completed 12 or more Gateway credit hours, enrolled in 8 or more current Gateway credits. GPA 2.0 or better. Recommendation of program faculty are considerations in awarding this scholarship. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.


    Racine Police Department Staff Officers Assoc. Scholarship

    This scholarship is available to students enrolled in the criminal justice law enforcement program at Gateway. Qualified students will be currently enrolled in 8 Gateway credits and have earned at least 18 credits. Applicant must maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or better, and must have graduated from one of the following high schools in the Racine Unified School District: Case, Park, Horlick, Walden, St. Catherine, Prairie, Racine Lutheran, Real Charter Senior School, the Mack Center, or Gateway Adult High School. Recommendations of program faculty are considerations in awarding this scholarship. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.


    Ralph Malicki Memorial Welding Scholarship

    This $2,000 tuition voucher will be awarded to a student enrolled in the Welding Program who attends Gateway's Racine Campus.




    Randy Beck Memorial Fire Science Scholarship

    This scholarship is available to students enrolled in the fire science program, who are legal permanent residents of the tri county Gateway area (Kenosha, Racine, and Walworth Counties), have a grade point average of 3.0 or greater, and have 9 cumulative Gateway credits in the fire science program at the conclusion of the fall semester. Special attention will be given to those showing participation in fire safety education programs, safety demonstrations, public speaking on fire safety, volunteer fire department activities, etc. Financial need may be a consideration. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher. NOTE: Applicants must also provide a short essay (at least 150 words) on A Brotherhood of Firefighting. 


    Ray Pedersen Automotive Scholarship

    This scholarship is awarded to continuing Gateway students who are enrolled in the Automotive Maintenance Technician or Automotive Technology program, have at least a 2.0 GPA, completed at least 12 Gateway credit hours, enrolled in 8 current Gateway credit hours and instructor recommendations. Involvement in the community and financial need may also be considerations. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.


    Reusser Electronic Scholarship

    For students in the Electrical Engineering/Electronic Technician programs. Student should be a Wisconsin resident. Student should have completed 12 or more Gateway credit hours, currently enrolled in 8 or more Gateway credit hours. GPA 2.50 or better. Instructor recommendations and involvement in school and community activities will be considerations in awarding this scholarship. This $500 scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.

    Betty Brenneman has made a gift to establish the Geothermal Technology Scholarship in memory of her husband.


    Robert Brenneman Memorial Urban Farming Scholarship

    This $500 scholarship will be awarded as a tuition voucher for a student who: is enrolled in the Urban Farming program and has extracurricular activities; and has experience as a volunteer or paid employee at a farmers market or urban farm.


    Robert Kilbert Scholarship

    This scholarship is for a continuing student who as completed a minimum of 30 Gateway credit hours. Student should have a 3.0 GPA, be enrolled in 8 credit hours and show leadership in both in and out of school. Student should write an essay of why they would be a good candidate to receive this award. Student should have two letters of recommendation.


    Robert Zakutansky Memorial Scholarship

    This annual continuous scholarship is for students in the Health Sciences programs. Preference is given to students who are involved in the community or involved volunteering or in clubs at Gateway. Consideration will be given to first generation college students.


    Roberto Clemente Memorial Scholarship

    The Roberto Clemente Scholarship was established in 2015 in honor of baseball great, Roberto Clemente. Roberto played for the Pittsburg Pirates, was very active in the community and was in a plane accident while delivering medical supplies following an earthquake in Nicaragua.


    Rodger Woodward Memorial Scholarship

    Established in 2018 for a student:
    • Student enrolled in the Nursing Program
    • Minimum GPA 3.0
    • Completed 30 credits, enrolled in 9
    • One (1) letter of recommendation
    • Demonstrated leadership

    Rose Mattson Memorial Scholarship

    This scholarship is available to continuing students enrolled in either the judicial reporting or the administrative assistant programs at the Kenosha Campus. Students must have successfully completed 18 Gateway credits and be currently enrolled in 12 Gateway credits. Applicant must maintain a 3.0 grade point average or better. Involvement in college/community activities and instructor recommendations are considerations in awarding this scholarship. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.


    Rotary Club of Lake Geneva Scholarship

    This scholarship is available to continuing students enrolled at Gateway. Students must have a grade point average of 2.5 or greater, enrolled in at least 6 credits, completed at least 6 credits and have one letter of recommendation. Preference given to a student involved in community service or in the Gateway community, and financial need will be a consideration in awarding this scholarship. Student must live within a zip code of either 53147 or 53191.


    Samuel Domenic & Samuel Dale Iaquinta Memorial Registered Nursing Scholarship

    This scholarship is available to students enrolled in the associate degree nursing program who have either completed one semester of study with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher, or who have a Wisconsin Home Health Aide Certification and have been employed as such for one year. Financial need and recommendations of program faculty are also considerations in awarding this scholarship. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.


    SC Johnson Student Life Scholarship

    Through the generosity of a $100,000 scholarship endowment established by the SC Johnson Fund (6/2011 funds received, 2012 first scholarships awarded), Gateway Technical College Foundation, Inc. will offer up to five (5) $1,000 scholarships to be awarded annually to Gateway students meeting the following eligibility criteria: • Scholarship applies to student enrolled in any Gateway Associate Degree program; • Student must be in good academic standing as determined by Gateway’s academic eligibility policy; • Student must participate in one or more of the following leadership activities; Gateway student organization, community-based organization, civic organization, global scholars program, green scholars program or service learning experience; • Student must be enrolled at Gateway Technical College in at least 8 credit hours; • Preference will be given to students who are residents of Racine County, but they may attend any Gateway Technical College campus for their coursework; • Preference will be given to students demonstrating financial need.


    Schroeder Memorial Scholarship

    This scholarship honors the community involvement of Ralph Schroeder, a Gateway Marketing graduate and employee of Educators Credit Union. The emphasis of this scholarship will be focused on a student's involvement in their community. Student should be a resident of Racine, Kenosha or Walworth county. Maintain a 2.50 GPA. Program is accounting, business management, business to business, economics, financial planning, marketing and management, sports and event marketing or supervisory management. Student should be a member of DECA, FBLA or Market Management preferred. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.




    Spanish Center of Southeastern Wisconsin Scholarship

    Spanish Center of Southeastern Wisconsin Scholarship was established in 2016, for a student of Hispanic or Latino descent who is a graduate of a high school in Kenosha, Racine, or Walworth county, has a minimum GPA of 2.8 and demonstrates financial need.
     



    Steve Velasquez Memorial Scholarship

    The Steve Velasquez Memorial Scholarship is a $500 scholarship.

    The Foundation shall select a scholarship recipient according to the following criteria: 
    • Applicant must be enrolled in the Fire Program.
    • Applicant must have a 2.0 or better grade point average.
    • Applicant must have completed 15 or more Gateway credit hours and does not need to be currently enrolled in Gateway credit hours (student may be returning to finish program).
    • Applicant must have one letter of recommendation. Two to three letters are preferred.
    • Applicant must demonstrate community involvement through volunteer activities.
    • Applicant must be a member of the Gateway Association of Fire Students.
    Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate leadership.


    Student Achievement Fund

    Student Achievement Fund is awarded to a Gateway student with disabilities. Students must currently be enrolled in program courses and intending to enroll in program courses next semester. Should have completed 9 or more Gateway credit hours, enrolled in 6 or more Gateway credit hours. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.




    Tenuta's Delicatessen Scholarship

    For students who have completed at least 12 hours, are enrolled in at least 8 hours, demonstrate financial need, are working at least 12 hours per week and have a GPA of 2.5 or better.


    Thomas - Lawson Opportunity Fund Scholarship

    The Julian Thomas and Cassell Lawson Opportunity Scholarship was established by the families, friends and co-workers of Julian Thomas and Dr. Cassell Lawson. This scholarship is designed to continue the legacy of these highly respected and admired community and education leaders who exemplified by teaching, preaching, modeling and living the values of equality, diversity, and education. These individuals encouraged and inspired hundreds of minority students to pursue and excel through education. Julian Thomas held the position of VP/Provost of Racine Campus at the time of his death in 2003 and Dr. Cassell Lawson retired from GTC as the VP of Community Campus in 2006. Students should have completed 12 or more Gateway credit hours, currently enrolled in 8 Gateway credit hours. GPA 2.50. Be of African American, Asian\Pacific Island, Hispanic\Latino, Multi-ethnic, or other ethnicity. Recommendations of program faculty are considerations in awarding this scholarship. This scholarship is awarded as a tuition voucher.


    Thomas J Burke Memorial Scholarship

    This scholarship is available to students enrolled in the graphic technologies-designer program at Gateway. Applicants must meet minimum Foundation requirements and maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or better. Academic achievement, leadership qualities, and recommendations of program faculty are considerations in awarding this scholarship. At least one instructor recommendation must come from a graphic design program instructor. Award presented as tuition voucher.


    USG Scholarship Fund

    Three $400 scholarships will be awarded: one to a student from the Kenosha Campus, one to a student from the Racine Campus, and one to a student from the Elkhorn or Burlington Campus. Criteria are: 2.0 GPA; student has completed at least 12 credit hours; student is enrolled in at least 8 credit hours; 2 letters of recommendation completed; personal statement completed;evidence of academic achievement and/or community activities. Name changed to USG (United Student Government).


    Veterans Scholarship

    RAY KOUKARI, JR and Racine Campus staff established the Veterans Scholarship 9/25/13 Applicant must be enrolled in either the Associate of Applied Science Degree or the Technical Diploma program. Applicant must have a 2.0 or better grade point average. Applicant must have completed 6 or more Gateway credit hours and currently enrolled in 6 or more Gateway credit hours. Applicant must have one letter of recommendation. Two letters are preferred. Applicant must have Veteran Status: Honorably Discharged Applicant with membership in the Student Veterans of America will be given preference.


    Vicki Stefka Memorial Scholarship

    The Vicki Stefka Memorial Scholarship was established in January 2015 to provide financial assistance for older adults to further their education at Gateway.


    Walker Fund For Women Scholarship

    Established in 2014, the Mary Walker Scholarship is awarded to a woman who is involved in science or non-traditional programs.


    William Higgins, Jr. Criminal Justice & Law Enforcement Scholarship

    This scholarship is offered to continuing students enrolled in the Criminal Justice - Law Enforcement program at Gateway Technical College who meet the minimum Foundation requirements. Student should have completed 12 Gateway credit hours and enrolled in 8 or more current credit Gateway hours. GPA 2.0. Outstanding academic achievement, dedication, aptitude, and 2 recommendations of program faculty are considerations in awarding scholarship. Essay reason for career choice is preferred. Scholarship awarded as a tuition voucher.


    William M. & Clarice Sklba Scholarship

    This scholarship was started by the family of Bill and Clarice Sklba for a Racine County veteran at Gateway with a 2.0 GPA. Clarice was a Gateway graduate and longtime employee. Scholarship candidates will have a veteran's status of Honorably Discharged, Medical or General Discharge.




    Wisconsin Florists Association Scholarship

    The Wisconsin Florists Foundation established the Wisconsin Florists Association Scholarship for a junior or a senior floriculture/horticulture student who is enrolled at Gateway Technical College full time. Recipient must be a student who goes to school in Wisconsin and plans to work in Wisconsin when schooling is completed. At the time of selection, the recipient must have as their future goal a career in the floriculture/horticultural industry (florist, green house grower, floral research, etc.) Recipient must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or greater. The recipient must be a responsible student and citizen. Preference is given to candidates involved in campus student activities, community organizations, civic or service organizations and shows good leadership abilities. Awarded student is required to write a short letter about himself or herself including: name, brief background and their future goals.


    Wisconsin Hospital Association Health Care Degree Scholarship

    Scholarship Details  Two scholarships awarded to each of the 16 technical colleges for the 2017-2018 academic year (must graduate between July 2017 and July 2018)  Student must be entering final semester of a two-year health care-related degree program  Scholarship covers cost of tuition, books and fees (that are required to graduate) for that final semester, UP TO $2,000.00.   Selection Criteria  Student must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA  Student must be entering final semester of a two-year health care-related degree program  Students in any of your two-year health care-related degree programs are eligible. Wisconsin hospitals have identified workforce shortages in a variety of professional areas. In particular, coders, pharmacy techs, laboratory techs and EMS have been identified by our hospitals of areas of current need. 


    Wisconsin Midrange Computer Professional Assn. Scholarship

    This scholarship will be awarded to continuing student in Gateway's Programmer/Analyst program. Must have earned at least 8 Credits, currently enrolled in 6 Gateway credits and maintain a 3.0 or better grade point average. Involvement in school and community activities and instructor recommendations will be considerations in awarding this scholarship. Financial need may be a consideration. Scholarships will be awarded as a tuition voucher at the Foundation's annual ceremony. 


    Wisconsin Nursery Association Scholarship

    The Foundation shall select a scholarship recipient according to the following criteria: • Applicant must be a resident of Wisconsin • Applicant must be enrolled in the Horticulture – Nursery and Landscaping program. • Applicant must have a 3.0 or better grade point average. • Applicant must have completed 15 or more Gateway credit hours. • Applicant must be carrying a minimum of 3 credit hours per semester. • Applicant must be employed in the Nursery and Landscaping industry. • Applicant must have at least one letter of recommendation with additional consideration given to applicant who provides a letter of recommendation from their supervisor. • Applicant should demonstrate Gateway and community involvement through volunteer and club activities.


    Women in Engineering Scholarship

    For female students in the following programs: ET/EET Engineering (Electrical Engineering Tech, Electronics Engineering Tech, Biomedical Engineering Tech); Mechanical Design Engineering (Mechanical Design Tech, Mechatronics Tech); Civil Engineering (Architectural/Structural Engineering Tech, Highway/Public Works Tech, Land Surveying Tech, Fresh Water Resources Tech) and Sustainable Energy Tech when it's available. Student must have overall GPA of 2.75 or higher and have completed 12 core credits in an Engineering Technology field. Student must be enrolled in at least 6 credits and be an active, participating member of at least one on-campus student club. Preference will be given to students who can demonstrate financial need and must submit a paragraph describing that financial need.


    WTEA Foundation Technology Education Teacher Scholarship

    Applicant must be enrolled in the Gateway / UW Parkside Technology Education Teacher Education program.

    Racine Dental Group awards a $500.00 scholarship to students enrolled in the Dental Assistant Program. Applicants must be enrolled in 16 Gateway credit hours by the end of their first semester, and have a GPA of 3.0 or better, complete 2 letters of recommendation, one by a faculty member in your program area and complete the essay about why this is their career choice.
